Ballet isn’t modelling business, it’s about dancing. Tall people can dance, short people can dance, everyone can dance. It dosn’t matter, it’s all about how you can express yourself and how smart you use what you have. Nothing else is important.
Vaganova Ballet Academy news
The academy is gearing up for the new academic year, which will commence on the 1st of September. No formal announcement has been made yet, but it appears that there have been several significant changes to the class structure and teaching staff.
Change 1: Grade 8 / Level III
VBA added another year level between the “high school” levels and the undergrad courses. There is now a Grade 8 / Level III. I’m not sure what this means exactly, but it looks like last year’s Grade 7 / Level II (Khoreva, Ionova, etc) will not be proceeding to the undergraduate courses, but will rather be completing another year of “high school”. I’m pretty sure they will still be graduating in 2018, but their diplomas may be different to those of the previous graduates.
Change 2: Tsiskaridze will continue teaching a class.
(In what is the least surprising development ever) Nikolai Tsiskaridze appears to have enjoyed his stint as a substitute coach so much last academic year that he will be taking on another class in 2017/2018. More specifically, he’ll be looking after Grade 7 / Level II.
Classes of 2018 (graduating next year)
- Class of Kovaleva
- Class of Kasenkova
- Class of Miozzi
- Class of Ilyin
